If at 24 you're still single, lower your standards. And drink more beer.

Happy Birthday to me.

A post from Coqui not only speaks to me and the place I'm in, but also gets me thinking about things like Grace, Predestination, and Relationship. (permalink)

After that last site, that is, the fascist pharisee site, Coqui is a breath of fresh air.
Would you believe that the url godhatesfags.com leads to a baptist church website with a featured article about loving your neighbor?

The front page of this site is such a bright shining example of the sort of hypocrisy that drives people away from Christianity..... I'm even motivated to write a letter of protest to the pastor but I'm afraid that: A) He doesn't care what a liberal gay loving canadian thinks, and B) My all consuming fury will lead some very un-christlike verbal exchange which will NOT come from a place of selfless love.

So what do you do? As Christians we're encouraged to stand up against corrupt governments and speak against immorality in our society. What about hate mongering pharisees who are dragging God's name through the mud?

I don't know..... I can find compassion and understanding for just about anyone, but religious blasphemers just get my goat..... I can't understand them.

This particular pastor was picketing his "god hates fags" message at a funeral for a gay boy who was beaten to death. His website lets us know that Matthew Sheppard has been in hell for 2334 days.

Because meanspirited malice is something Jesus exhibited in his life and parables.
I finally worked up the motivation to add a couple of links, just so you know. check 'em out.

The weekend was a blur. I'm tired. I worked overtime on saturday, helped out with the youth, played djembe on the team at church, and went to the spa in moose jaw with mzungu and some others.

Now I need to take some time down to watch a movie. But I wanted to leave you with the most important thing I took away from this weekend.

If you can't say it from a place of selfless love, just close your mouth.
