Well, everything was great, until sunday night, when I reached down to pick up a dvd and.......

BAM!!!

My back broke in half, and I fell down and rolled over and stared at the ceiling gasping in pain. Apparently at the ripe old age of 23 I am as frail as a 97 year old cancer survivor with osteoporosis.

I don't know what happened. I've experienced chronic back pain for about 5 years.... but nothing like this. I have never felt as mortal as I did last night. It's easy to think you're invincible when you're young, but this is silly. I feel disabled.

Soooo..... it looks like I'll be seeing a chiropractor..... again. Slight financial detour. Chiro fees can really add up when you're going in regularly.

Speaking of which, have you ever noticed the difference between chiropractors and doctors?? Every doctor I've ever had as seemed aloof and interested only in prescribing painkillers. I've seen doctors who were rude, some who were in a hurry, some who didn't look me in the eye. I have never left a doctors office with optimistic feelings about my wellbeing. It was always "take this, and if it doesn't work, come back and I'll subscribe something stronger."

I have never gone to a chiropractor who didn't seem genuinely concerned about my wellbeing. At the end of my appointment today, the chiropractor repeated something to me that I had said at the beginning of the appointment. The appointment was an hour long. I have good friends who can't do that.

Anyways, if I'm scarce around here, like I have been the last few days, it's because I'm lying on my back watching tv and praying for spinal re-alignment. There are things I'd love to say but sitting in this chair just so painful. Hopefully Dr. Shawn can have me a little more comfortable with my skeleton by the time I have to drive back to manitoba.

Pontiacs are not the most ergonomic of vehicles, I am discovering.

Oh yeah and Chimwemwe's coming to town for new years.
